AVCON’s Environmental Policy Statement

The Aviation industry significantly contributes to global CO2 emissions and AVCON recognises it has a duty of care to help mitigate and offset the emissions of both our own company activities and from operating aircraft for our clients. 

We have adopted the following initiatives to support our commitment to reduce our impact on the environment. 

• Using the most fuel efficient aircraft whenever possible.

• Conducting detailed Cargo Load Studies to optimize aircraft capacity to improve fuel efficiency. One example is a recent charter programme which enabled  reducing the equivalent of two Boeing747F flights after the implementation of a bespoke loading system.

• Analysing flight routes to reduce positioning / de-positioning of aircraft and fuel tankering.

• Recycling or reusing waste material.

• Reducing our Energy Consumption by using the latest technologies including lighting, heating and insulation.

Carbon Offset

AVCON will identify and donate to certified worthwhile projects that prevent or remove the emissions of an equivalent amount of greenhouse gases, generated by our client's use of aircraft and through our own business activity. Avcon will also be aiming to support the research and development of sustainable and carbon reducing aviation fuels.

Avcon’s Company CO2 emissions, which are primarily generated through staff business travel are off-set directly by an annually calculated donation.

Operating Aircraft CO2 emissions are estimated at quotation stage based on ICAO’s established calculation method and clients are given the following choices of how to offset them:

• Not participate in any offset arrangements, or

• Use the client’s own preferred offset arrangements, or

• AVCON will calculate the additional offset cost based on our preferred programmes  and will make any donations as instructed by our clients on their behalf.
